We’re all in this writing thing for a reason. I write to connect with others, in my writing, and also in my newsletter, instagram posts, my emails, my DMs and late-night conversations with friends and soon-to-be friends. Have you felt alone in your creative pursuits? In love letters to storytellers, I’m all about reminding myself and others of our foundation: a love of story and passionate belief in the power of storytelling to our lives and the lives of others.
My newsletter is hosted on Substack, a platform that lends itself to more essay-style writing and a writing community. My newsletter will only land in your inbox or Substack app once a month. It includes:
> Occasional interviews with storytellers from all walks of life about their work and why they tell stories. In 2023, my plan is to focus on local Manitoban/Canadian and independent writers. We’re all about the underrated, small, cozy communities here.
> Vulnerable reflections on the behind-the-scenes life of an “emerging writer”
> First looks and sneak previews of writing projects I’m working on and my upcoming release, this is a love story: poems and essays on friendship, love, and mental health
> A free, exclusive download of a meditation for creatives (written and audio), to calm your worries when you are stuck or discouraged in your creative pursuits.
